We were sorry to hear of Kay’s passing. Even though we had not spoken in a while we thought of Kay and her family often and remembered her funny stories. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren. God Bless you! Bill and Patt Hagan

    Pam,
I wish to give you my condolences on your loss. I have to admit when Mike told me that Kay was not doing well I was a little confused. I have called Kay (Gert her Winn Dixie nickname) for so many years and it took me a few minutes to realize who he was talking about. My heartfelt wishes are for you and yours during your time of grief. I will always treasure my memories of her at Winn Dixie so many years ago.

    God Bless
    Kevin

The Buford family has been fortunately enriched by having had Kay enter our lives. She became an instant family member. Kay seemed her happiest when she was spending time with her family at the “farm” as she called our modest 2 acres in Florida. She introduced us to Beanie Babies and exotic birds. From two peacocks to over 200 feathered friends. She had a big impact on our lives and will always be remembered with fond memories. Her love of family and friends will always be remembered, as well. We send our deepest condolences.

    To the Family,
I just wanted you to know that I have many memories of Kay and she will be missed. I always thought it was funny the way she always told you what was on her mind and was always quick to tell you if you were in the wrong. My biggest memory would have to be the day she swung the doors open at Winn Dixie and came right at me pointing her finger and yelling at me because my mother had just congratulated her on becoming a grandmother from Pam and how she could not wait for me to give her a grandchild. Well as we all know they had both become grandmothers at the same time but I was too immature and stupid to tell my mom. Because of the one moment, Kay had pointed me in the right direction to accepting the fact that I really was a father and it was time to grow up, needless to say Mom was given the news the very next day.

I hope the healing process goes quickly, but it is always hard to lose a loved one.
